Australia’s most famous, designer teddy bear has to be the Flatout Bear. Created in 2002 by sisters, Sarah and Prue, who live in Sydney, Australia, Flatout Bears have become a global phenomenon and adored by celebrity mums.
Here’s what some of the stars had to say:
“We ALL love the Flatout Bear! Even Darla, our dog, tried to get hold of our furry friend. Thank you for thinking of us.”
“I really struggled with the question of whether I had the strength and character to give (the Flatout Bear) to my son rather than keep it for myself…”
Sarah Jessica Parker
“Thank you so much for the adorable bear. It has already found a home in our family. We greatly appreciate your generosity!”
Deborra-Lee & Hugh Jackman
But you don’t have to be rich and famous to own your own Flatout Bear as they’re exported around the world. Flatout Bears are now available in the USA, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Belgium, The Netherlands, Japan, Korea, Singapore, New Zealand and, of course, the UK. And at Big Fat Balloons we’ve an adorable range of Flatout Bears and Flatout Bearbabys for you to love and cherish.
Handmade from 100% Australian sheepskin, Flatout Bears are soft, cuddly and incredibly flat. They come in a range of delightful colours – milk, honey, latte, licorice, chocolate, koala grey and rosie. What’s more you can enjoy Flatout Bear in one of two different sizes – Flatout Bear 30cm x 25cm or the smaller Flatout Bearbaby at 18cm x 16cm.
With their baby safe eyes and nose that meet international safety standards and CE tested, they’re perfect for babies and children – or even parents and grandparents!
The founders of the Flatout Bears, Prue and Sarah, have started the FLATOUT Charity. The company donates money to CEDAC, a Cambodian run non-government organisation that helps children in Cambodia.
The aim is to improve health and education through awareness and educational programmes.
