Why Big Fat Balloons?

First let me introduce myself. I'm Sophie Baxter. When my first baby was born I received a balloon in a box that made me go 'WOW'. It was a great gift, unusual, unexpected and cheerful; it also kept my newborn son entertained - not to mention his Dad!

A few months later, I organised a helium balloon delivery for a friend's 50 th birthday. She absolutely loved it. In fact she still talks about the balloons whenever she remembers that special birthday.

It seemed an instant hit - a great gift you could send to anyone, whatever the occasion. At last an idea that made giving and receiving gifts easy, enjoyable and great fun.

At the time my husband and I were running a website design company and we'd built online shops for several of our clients. We were so enthusiastic about the idea of selling helium balloons and gifts online that we decided it was time to set up our own ecommerce web site.
